The Frame Headquarters proposal offers a home for a design gallery and headquarters for Frame Publishers.
The other embedded programs are ranging from a hotel, to apartments, retail and rental studios. All of them are cobranded and co-curated by the staff of Frame Magazine.
According to the jury: “The design offers a solid elaboration on the first round proposal. The well thought of placement and consideration for the different aspects of the immediate vicinity are noteworthy. Especially the elaboration of the facade on the Buiksloterham side met with a favourable response of the jury. The terraces on this side offer an agreeable outside spaces, and have a strong spatial effect. The proposal optimally benefits from the location’s qualities concerning the view, whilst simultaneously referencing other big volumes along the IJ. The design mostly adheres to the stated limiting condition, only the shape and size of the footprint have been slightly adjusted. The jury applauds the intelligent treaty of this complex task.”
