Project Architect

XO Projects is looking for talented and enthusiastic project architects and intermediate architects to join its team in Melbourne, predominantly working on mixed-used and master planning projects including hospitality, office and multi-residential.

XO Projects is a design studio established in 2016 as a Joint Venture company between Melbourne-based Elenberg Fraser and Amsterdam-based Elastik to give the replace the ordinary with non-ordinary solution. We are the office with ambitious architects and urban designers creating the space for extra ordinaries. A candidate will be engaged with the field of mixed-use, multi-residential, hospitality, office and master planning both locally and internationally.

5 years minimum experience locally and/or overseas is essential for the mentioned role. We seek for the unique, proactive, initiative, independent, sociable and responsible working ethic in our friendly and transparent environment. Those who want to actively challenge your own ideas and engage in the architecture discourse on a daily basis will be the best suitable talent for our office. The role also entails a strong initiation and capability on executing design ideas from conceptual to materializing in Design Development phase. We value good social/communication skills, 3D (Parametric, Rhino) and graphics (Adobe Suite) skills in demonstrating design ideas. Knowledge of Grasshopper and/or Revit is an advantage.

To be successful, you need to:

• Have exceptional design skills in complex project
• Be a creative thinker and design enthusiast
• Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident at the time of application
• Be responsible and adaptable to prioritise the client and project, no clock oriented

For project architects:

• Have minimum 5+ years industry experience with a Master’s degree or equivalent
• Be a registered Architect
• Have knowledge of construction industry legislation, practice and procedures
• Have excellent communication skills to work with clients and consultants
• Be responsible, initiative to lead the project throughout
• Be proactive and coaching skills for young members
• Have (co) designed and lead a project from conception to completion

For intermediate architects:

• Have minimum 3+ years industry experience with a Master’s degree or equivalent
• Have understanding of construction industry legislation, practice and procedures
• Have good communication skills to work within the team
• Be responsible, initiative to the task and deadlines
• Be proactive and eager to learn
• Be able to commit and support the team
• Have logical design thinking and skills in graphics and 3D.

Valuable software experiences:

• Must: AutoCAD, Rhino, InDesign, Excel, Word
• Experience in (but not limited to): Revit, Grashopper, 3dMAX, Illustrator, Photoshop

Key Position includes:

• Full time position (*4 days a week negotiable)
• Work within an agreed scope and deliver complete ‘packages’ of work to deadline
• Be attentive of client feedback, issues or potential problems and report any issues raised

Interior Architect

We look for the interior designer who has:

• 3-7 years’ experience working in the Interior Design field
• Hold a Bachelor Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture
• A portfolio of ambitious projects including high spec residential, hospitality and competitions
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills,
• Strong working relationships with Client, Industry and Project Leaders
• Outstanding communication skills and the ability to work in a small team environment
• Initiative taker, responsible and independent working personality
• Intermediate – advanced Revit skills. Capable of Revit Documentation
• Technical knowledge and ability to develop fit out details and take the design through to documentation
• Hospitality and/or residential experience
• Ability and confidence in dealing with suppliers
• Familiar with Australian building regulations and standards
• InDesign and Photoshop skills
• Skills in Rhino and Revit is an advantage

5 years minimum experience locally and/or overseas is essential for the mentioned role. The role entails working closely with clients to materialise architecturally inclusive, client specific, extraordinary interiors and prepare the required schedules and specifications for implementation.
Preferable for the full-time worker but 4 days/week is negotiable.
